karma unsweetened
no white swirling light
coffee black as coal
grinding coffee beans
another new day
tries me on for size
an Xmas present
coffee brewed in civet poop
save for visitors
coffee shop counter
where old men sit to grumble
neighborhood growlery
(Thanks to Stephanie Jewett for the word “growlery.”)
cat curls around
a hot ceramic mug–
I skip the coffee
clean up the cat box
grind coffee and settle in
listening to crows
Iβd sell my mother
for a pot of fresh brewβ but
done that already
dips nose and whiskers
into the coffee carafe
perks up to view birds
grinding coffee beans
watching a documentary
brewing of black holes
bongo beats of rain
coffee maker grumbling
cat purrs in my ear
sips capuchino
titters in elegant french
a fresno starbucks
rooftops sounding like
percolating coffee pots
a late winter rain
lady flutter-byes
chatting together
swarming the cafe
old men reminisce
coffee and pie 40 cents
how one waitress smiled
βοΈ
I’d sell my mother
for a pot of coffee
but already did that
coffee shop window
old couple watches
newer lives rush by
what is death
a coffee break
work still waits
coffee maker starts
birds wake up singing
glisequins of sun
two women sip coffee
speak in elegant french
a fresno starbucks
