bits of damp paper
what the laundromat
thinks of my verses
π
long line of ragged
skidmarked underpants
clothespins chagrined
neighbors watching
my red long johns
flapping in the breeze
(Revised)
breezeless day
clothesline sways
shadows of jays
my aunt’s laundry line
the taste of wooden clothes pegs
decades of gossip
high forest ridges
gathering up smoky clouds
arms full of laundry
woman doing laundry
longer she lives, the more chores
a bird outside calls
