Perhaps even less germane: have said to both my siblings in the presence of their spouses “gosh, you guys fight just like mom and dad! You may not realize just how comforting it is to know you each married a pal with whom you can argue and fuss. (ain’t none of us I can recall or heard tell did a postal shooting or mirdered i[ a ‘mentary school or a doctor’s office). Sometimes John and Sally’d start feuding at their breakfast – an hour before ours – and it would continue until just a bit past dark. Then it got quiet. Some thirty years I waited to find out why: “‘Cause we had better things to do then, J,” mom smirked. Only good friends can fight like that – or shuld be allowed so to do.
