If I’m reading this correctly, that hell is just a thought away–why so?
Idea is that hell — and heaven and points in between — are more states of being than anything else. Hell (self torture, negativity) is something we carry with us rather than a place to go to when we die. This is one not great explanation I am giving on one way to read this particular haiku.
